101.1 Fever
This means no training today. Sigh. I HATE BEING SICK. Still have to go to work though - which blows, I hope I don’t infect the entire office. They started layoffs yesterday so I need to be there to work hard and prove that I am worth keeping. I hate this. Everyone is terrified. Just sitting at the desks with their heads down. Cannot wait until this week is over.

Confession Wednesday
Didn’t make it to Bikram. Took my temperature and it was at 101. But then got sweaty and hot, and then took it again and now it is 98! Fever broke! Never had it happen so fast! So totally getting up to meet the trainer tomorrow morning. Lets all hope fever doesn’t come back and I can hold a kettle bell considering I ATE AN ENTIRE BOX OF MAC AND CHEESE TONIGHT! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Why I love NY coworkers
Me: (email to entire dept on copy) don’t forget happy hour tomorrow night for V’s belated bday
V: (email to entire dept on copy) can we reschedule for mid April – the 14th or the 21st? I can’t make it tomorrow.
Me: (email to entire dept on copy) the 21st – because we all have work off the 22nd!
HD: (email to entire dept on copy) I like that because if things go really badly we don’t have to see each other for three entire days.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Wondering if standing in 105 degree heat when you have a whooping cough is a good idea or a bad one. Whatever, still going.

I am laying here trying to sleep catching up on everything since I got back at 1am last night and was crazed at work today and have a crazy whooping cough - and B just sleep talked the following: “man, tough crowd” I would love to know what dream he is having! Hilarious.

So this just happened
Realized that the front tire was flat on my moms car while out - then realized neither one of us knows how to put air in a tire (hey I live in New York! I don’t have to drive!!!) So we go to the gas station and my mom finds a collegey aged kid and recruits him to do it. Then as we get back into the car and continue on our way my mom gives me this sage advice: “you have to be old,...

Gym Traimatazation
An old lady peeped me at the gym yesterday! Like opened my shower curtain to check out the goods! Who does this? I feel violated! It was totally intentional and super creepy! Like when i realized what was happening and tried to shut the curtain, she smiled slyly and was like oops, soooorrrrry amd sauntered down the aisle leaving me with my mouth and shower curtain agape! How do you yell at an...

Fantastic News!!
Had my LAST physical therapy appointment yesterday! I AM CURED! Well sort of - for literally like 6 months give or take, after I run or do certain exercises my hammy is going to feel very tight and sore - and that is totally normal. But I am officially not “torn” anymore! I can do everything! Direct hammy workouts, I just have to ease in, running, jumping, laterals, everything! 3...

Bootcamp
Yesterday I went to bootcamp for the first time in almost three months - since the injury. It was super weird - the class itself wasn’t that hard yesterday, there were only 4 stations (normally there are like 12 or something) and we just kept repeating them over and over. If I had taken this 3 months ago I would have felt like I got a good workout, but I would know that I wouldn’t be...

Today's Run
I had every intention of trying spin today for the first time in forever, but I got stuck at work - so I just ran. I pushed it to 3.25 miles today running. I kept in mind what LAEL said and I spend it up just a tish. Walked for warm up .25 miles at 4.5 Ran my first 1.5 miles at 6.2 Ran the next .5 mile at 6.4 Ran the next .5 mile at 6.6 Ran the next .25 mile at 6.8 Then pushed for the last...

Weekend in Review
This weekend actually felt long - that rarely happens. Friday - spent the entire evening on the phone with the airlines. Mission accomplished per previous post. Saturday - woke up early to go to D&F’s baby’s christening at St. Patrick’s on 5th Ave. Their baby - Benjamin - was soooo good. He was just happy and looking around smiling the entire time. Seeing him makes me WAY...

Walknig Workout Friday
I had every intention of going to the gym after work - but it didn’t happen today. I did however walk 7.30 miles today according to my pedometer! It’s weird how that is like a ton of walking but it doesn’t feel like I did anything. Anyway, it does help to ease my guilt. Tomorrow - a kick ass workout. Gym, yoga, workout yet to be determined. But glad today on an off day I...

Flying the Friendly Skies - a rare but well...
I used to fly to Asia 4 times a year every year for work. (I go out about 2x a year now) I always flew Cathay Pacific as they were part of American Airlines and became Executive Platinum on American. This meant free upgrades on 99.9% of all flights I took (I book coach and sit in business), I had tons of miles to use to buy free tickets (B and I went to Paris for free, Peru for free, our wedding...

Runners High - it's real!
I went to the gym to do a Thursday night boot-camp tonight (yes, I know I went to the gym instead of going out for St. Patrick’s day) and when I talked to the teacher he was like don’t take it because there will be a ton of sprinting. I just got clearance to run, so I can’t sprint yet. I was really upset because I was PUMPED to take a class. I haven’t taken a class in over...

Tuesday Paralysis
Since I have an 8am conference call on Thursday morning, MFT and I met last night to train - and since I GOT CLEARANCE TO DO HAMMY WORK (HOOOOOOORRRRRRRAAYY!!) I knew it would be tough. It was killer - but not much hammy work to be honest since we are “easing” back into it. ACT I - TRX 3 sets 45 seconds each Rows Pistols - 45 seconds on each leg Alligators Triceps Curls - I have...

Today I didn't work out
I had gotten some sad news so I just wasn’t in the mood - instead I walked 7.48 miles over the course of the day - 4.76 of them in HIGH HEELS thank you very much. Why do I feel guilty about not going to the gym then? Like walking is a great workout, and probably better for my hamstring, and good on the joints and all that. Bob and Jill always say just get up and moving - which I did. But...
