Per my last post, I am wondering if I do too much cardio. So yesterday I went to the gym in our building with B and he lead the workout his way:
- Run half mile comfortably
- Do 20 push ups (I had to do the majority on my knees, because I suck at push ups)
- Run at 7.0 for two minutes
- Do bicep curls - 10 on each arm
- Run at 8.0 for .25 miles
- Do lateral raises for shoulders, 10 on each arm
- Run for a minute and a half at 8.0
- Do rows - 20 on each side (10 renegade and 10 using the bench on each side)
- Run for 2 minutes at 7.0
- Do bicep curls again
- Run for 2 minutes at 8.0
- Do 10 push ups
- Run for 2 minutes at 7.0
- Do lateral pull ups 12 total
- Run for 2 minutes at 6.5 then walk for 30 seconds
- Do 10 skull crushers for tri’s
- Grab your partners ankles while laying down and have them toss your straight legs around for lower abs 20x then switch.
We did all this in a little over 30 minutes
You end up running around 2 miles, while getting off the treadmill constantly to do the exercises, so you are bringing your heart rate up and down.
I was crazy sweaty, but I wasn’t tired like I would be if I ran 6 miles. It was a fantastic upper body workout, but I wonder if I should have used heavier weights (I was using 10lbs)
I am willing to give it one more shot, but not ready to totally walk away from my long cardio sessions yet.
Make up for all the holiday food at the gym today - go after it!
