Went to the gym in my new hood for the first time today for spinning. Since I will be spending time at this gym, I got there a few minutes early so I could walk the gym and learn the layout so when I go there, I know where the equipment is that I want to use, what they have, what they don’t have, etc.
What I was not prepared for at 6am on a Monday
- The gym being SUPER cruise-y. Even when I was single I was never big on cuise-y gyms. But this was crazy, like I watched these guys ogle every girl that walked by while I stood behind them sort of watching this go down.
- The gym being SUPER guido - GTL baby. Lots of super tan tight wife beater wearing people working out. Or more accurately, standing around flexing, not sweating, and not really doing anything.
- My spin teacher not giving any direction and just saying in the beginning of class “follow what I do”. It was fine as I take spin all the time (and was actually a good workout) but if I was new to spin, I would have had no idea what was going on.
Just like anything I guess I just need time to adjust.
But it was weird. At least I got my workout in. It’s Monday - start your week right and go get it!
