Over 20 people showed up for Hard Body Friday yesterday morning - which is too many. It gets too packed and then everyone has to go in partners in order for the class to not be like 2 hours long - so bottom line is you get less individual time sparring with the coach. Whenever the class gets totally packed he tries to make it super hard, to scare newbies away.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn’t.
We started off with the usual warm up: squats, flying lunges, body builders, bicycles, v’s, running, jumping jacks, squat thrusts, push ups, medi push-ups, and then the stairs.
I have mentioned that 3 flights up and down both = 1x. He had us do them 5x for the warm up.
I cannot believe he found a way to make the stairs even harder. I didn’t think it was possible. But hoping the entire time was absurd.
The class was the same format as it always was. My partner was a girl who had never taken the class before, but looked to be in pretty good shape. Um, she cut out after half an hour. Like 2 stations after we sparred with the coach.
At the end of class when we all thought we were done - he made us run the stairs again.

It was the hardest boxing class I have ever taken to date.
The only bad thing was in the locker room two of the new girls were like that class was so awesome I am totally coming back next week.
We might need a bigger gym.
