I made it to boxing today, which is a feat in itself as that I am the most tired ever. I think something changed in me, and like my 6-7 hours of sleep I am used to getting all the sudden isn’t enough. Maybe I am getting older. Harumph.
Anyway - boxing was great, but since I was feeling tired I sort of lacked the extra oomph I usually have in class. I was just going through the motions. Sweating and working - but probably at a level of 80% vs my normal 90-100%.
When it was my turn to spar with the Coach he was telling me a different way to distribute my weight so my right hook is way more powerful (think like snowboarding where your back foot carries almost all the weight but stay on your toes) and I just stopped. I was so breathless because it is still so humid, and I was tired, and he looked at me and was like come on - and I was like Rope-A-Dope, and he started cracking up.
After that sort of 10 second conversation break I finished up strong.
It’s almost the end of the week - power through!
