Planes, Planes, Busses, and Cars

After 23.5 hours of traveling, I finally made it to California! It shouldn’t have taken that long, but I had mad delays everything including some crazy So Cal fires in LA, so we couldn’t take the 405 where we needed to - so we had to drive up to Oxnard to get on the 101 to Santa Barbara (if any of you are from CA you will know how drama that was - dumb LA traffic)

But I made it home!

Today my mom, my nephew, my brother and myself all went to visit my grandma. Even though she has dementia, I can still see flickers of her old self in there, and every time I do my heart is warmed, as my grandma and I were besties for a very very long time.

Also tonight we got to celebrate my brother’s birthday which is next week. I haven’t celebrated with him on his birthday in basically 8 years - since I moved to New York. I made him a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream from scratch!

Seeing my family for the first time in almost 6 months, made every minute of that commute from Asia worth it.

So happy to be home!
