Sorry I didn’t post this last night - I was too busy cleaning out B’s closet while he was at the Met game as a birthday surprise. (Photos to come shortly)
So yesterday I got stuck in an hour and a half meeting with a new factory we are possibly going to use in Pakistan, so I missed boot-camp. BOO. But I had my group training with MFT, and K last night. It ROCKED. For some reason we both really stepped it up last night.
Act I - 3 sets of 45 seconds
then switch
Act II - 3 sets of 45 seconds
I have never really used the 1/2 bosu ball before. It was awesome. I loved it because I have seen people using it on the Biggest Loser, and since I am quasi obsessed with Jill Michaels I get pumped up to do stuff she does. Anyway…
Act III - 20 minutes of Met Con with Kettle Bells
I have talked about Metabolic Conditioning before. This is where you perform a set of three exercises as many times as you can in 20 minutes. How many “rounds” you get through you note, then in like a month you do it again and see if you improved.
I did 8 rounds - K did 7 - but the last time I did it I also did 8 rounds. I was really frustrated that I hadn’t improved at all until I realized I had totally used lighter weights last time! I used the green Kettle for the swing instead of the red, and the yellow kettle (8kgs so approx 17lbs) for the dead lift. So I did the same amount of rounds - but with heavier weights so it is a big improvement! HOORAY!!!
Since I am so sore today, and it is B’s birthday I am taking today off. Hopefully I can catch spin tomorrow!
Happy Thursday everyone!
Friday - met LAEL for Core Fusion. Rachel was our teacher and she was maybe 6000x harder than any other teacher I have taken. It was like an hour of pain! But that’s awesome, because it means it was doing something (hopefully anyway). After that, came home and had a relaxing night in.
Saturday - Celebrated B’s birthday all day - it was a week ago but he was in Arizona, so we hadn’t gotten a chance to celebrate yet. We started the day with B taking a golf lesson at Chelsea Piers. I was nervous buying him a lesson, but if he wants to get below his 9 handicap I thought this was the way - anyway, he LOVED it. He totally was stoked, and can’t wait to go back.

From the lesson home to shower and get ready for the day - lunch at Union Square Cafe. From there some light shopping including a stop at World of Golf to get B some new golf shoes along with some new golf clothes. Then home for a long nap before dinner at the super delicious famous Peter Lugars. I’ve been in New York 7 years and I had never been, so it was time.
Dinner was beyond delicious, they totally lived up to their reputation of the best Steakhouse in New York! (I still think The Strip House might be better or at least tied though) We had the most amazing ice cream sundae for dessert, it was huge, and made me feel like a kid!

From dinner we were too stuffed to go out, which was the original plan, so we came back to the city, (Lugar’s is in Brooklyn) grabbed Shea and headed up to Central Park for a cigar and nice long walk. Shea loved being off leash in the park, and it was a super relaxing romantic way to end the night.
Sunday - took Shea to the dog park and grabbed a coffee at my favorite French Patisserie. From here, home to put B through the wringer at the gym - we had to work off that sundae! I designed a 12 minute met-con:
repeat for 12 min. We did this, rested about three minutes, then repeated the 12 minute circuit. We also ran from our house to the gym which is approx a mile as a warm up. We then cut the workout a bit short in order to get ready for brunch at Good in the West Village with out friend A & T. Now resting and relaxing on the roofdeck enjoying some sunshine.
This weekend felt so long - which never happens. It was so great. Hope you had a good one!
That met-con from yesterday killed me!
I am soooooooo sore I can barely move!!!!
Hoping if I go do swings at lunch it will help loosen everything up. I am walking like I just rode 50miles/kilometers on horseback! AH!
